Services and Philosophy Counseling Portland Marriage and Family Therapy provides counseling for individuals, children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups. I offer services for help with relationship issues, pain management, life transitions, employment concerns, addictions, and any other issues that affect your life. The structure, frequency, and number of sessions will vary depending on your unique needs and your therapeutic goals. We will discuss what will work best for you during your initial session. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe the most effective form of counseling involves a systemic perspective that considers your relationships and environment, as well as your thoughts and feelings. I acknowledge that change can be difficult, and that we often benefit when our friends and family are involved with the therapeutic process. However, since we also benefit from individual work, I also offer one-on-one sessions. I utilize a number of therapeutic methods, including solution-focused therapy, brief therapy, and client-centered counseling. Counseling takes place in a private setting, convenient to Highway 26, Downtown Portland, and the West suburbs. Tutoring Our tutor is currently a certified teacher at a public grade school in the Portland area. She has a BS in History, an MA in Teaching, and a background in Art and Drama. Her tutoring specialties include math and language arts. Tutoring is available for students in grades 4-8.
